Major Charity Use Paradigm Test Facility
International charity Save the Children International recently used Paradigm’s test facility to train key field personnel in satellite and radio communications. Focussing on quick, trouble-free setup and deployment of communications equipment, a small group of international team members from the charity spent a week at Paradigm’s world-class facility in Alton, Hampshire.
Paradigm’s facility offers training rooms, equipped indoor test rooms and outdoor terminal test sites for training, testing and hands-on practical experience. It provides a broad range of satellite equipment along with good visibility and connectivity to satellite services. For organisations such as Save the Children International, where effective communication is vital in disaster-struck and remote areas, being able to set up and connect quickly is critical. A facility such as Paradigm’s allows individuals and teams to gain hands-on experience and knowledge in a controlled environment.
Paradigm’s General Manager, Jon Godfrey explains: “We pride ourselves on adding value for our customers and our test facility does just that, allowing users to completely familiarise themselves with the equipment and technology prior to any deployment. Our engineers can be on hand to assist with any training and trouble-shooting required and customers have the space and flexibility to re-create the sort of challenges they can expect once in the field.”
